Alison Bozung, OD, FAAO

Optometrist, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute

Alison Bozung, OD, FAAO, is an optometrist at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, FL, seeing patients primarily in the Ophthalmic Emergency Department. She also serves as co-director of the optometric student externship program. Prior to joining BPEI, she was a clinical assistant professor at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, practicing in the Cornea and External Disease as well as Comprehensive Ophthalmology services. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. Upon graduation, she completed a residency at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Michael Greenwood, MD

Clinical Assistant, University of North Dakota School of Medicine

Michael Greenwood, MD, is a Refractive, Cornea, Glaucoma, and Advanced Cataract surgeon at Vance Thompson Vision in Fargo, ND. He received his medical degree from the University of North Dakota, completed his residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, and then did a 1-year fellowship in advanced anterior segment surgery at Vance Thompson Vision in Sioux Falls, SD. He has published numerous book chapters and peer-reviewed journal articles, and has presented nationally and internationally. He lives in Fargo, ND with his wife, Heidi, and daughter, Quincy, and enjoys hockey, running, and spending time with family.

Amee Ho OD, FAAO

Assistant Professor, Pacific University College of Optometry

 Amiee Ho, OD, FAAO, received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2012 from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry after earning her BS degree in Biochemistry/Cell Biology from the University of California, San Diego. In 2013, she completed a residency in Geriatrics and Primary Care at West Los Angeles Veterans Administration Medical Center through the Southern California College of Optometry. From 2013 to 2015, Dr. Ho served as an optometrist for the Southern Arizona Veterans Affairs Health Care System at a community-based outpatient clinic in Yuma, Arizona. She joined the Pacific University College of Optometry faculty in July 2015. Dr. Ho was raised in San Diego, CA. She enjoys hiking, tennis, running, traveling, baking, arts & crafts, and spending time with her family.

Michael Kling, OD

Owner/CEO, Michael A. Kling, OD, Inc. DBA Invision Optometry

Michael Kling, OD, is the founder and CEO of Invision Optometry, the largest single-location practice in San Diego, CA. Recognized as unique and one of the most innovative practices in the country, Invision Optometry was named “America’s Finest Optical Retailer” by INVISION Magazine in 2017. In addition to private practice, Dr. Kling is a consultant and speaker for ImpactLeadership, which provides leadership, culture, and business consulting for eye-care professionals. Dr. Kling earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in 1993, and went on to complete a residency in Ocular Disease at OmegaEye Care Center in Jackson, TN.

Nathan Lighthizer, OD, FAAO

Vice President, Intrepid Eye Society

Born and raised in Bismarck, North Dakota, Nate Lighthizer, O.D., F.A.A.O., is a graduate of Pacific University College of Optometry. Upon graduation, he completed a residency in Family Practice Optometry with an emphasis in Ocular Disease through Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry. Dr. Lighthizer has since joined the faculty at the Oklahoma College of Optometry and serves as the Chief of Specialty Care Clinics and the Chief of Electrodiagnostics Clinic. In 2014, he founded and now heads the Dry Eye Clinic at the College of Optometry. Also in 2014, he was named the Director of Continuing Education as well as the Assistant Dean for Clinical Care Services at the Oklahoma College of Optometry. He is a founding member, and currently serves as vice president, of the Intrepid Eye Society, which is a group of emerging thought leaders in optometry. He was named a member of PCON 250, a list of the top 250 optometrists in the country who practice progressively, provide innovative patient care, conduct optometric research or excel in academia, and share what they have learned with other optometrists to advance the profession. Dr. Lighthizer lectures nationally on numerous topics, most notably advanced ophthalmic procedures, electrodiagnostics, and ocular disease.

Blair Lonsberry, MS, OD, MEd, FAAO

Professor, Pacific University College of Optometry

Blair Lonsberry, MS, OD, Med, FAAO, grew up in Rossburn, Manitoba (Canada). He obtained his optometry degree from the University of Waterloo in 1996 after completing a Master of Science in Physiology from the University of Manitoba. He completed his residency in Primary Care Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1997, then joined the faculty at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. During his time at SCO, he completed a Master in Education degree with an emphasis in adult learning. Currently, Dr. Lonsberry is a full professor with Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon.

Gabby Marshall, OD, FCOVD

Owner, Elemental Eyecare

Gabby Marshall, OD, FCOVD, has been practicing in Bend for 20 years after receiving her optometry degree from Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon. She opened Elemental Eyecare in 2008 in order to specialize in pediatrics and vision rehabilitation after getting her feet wet for nine years in full-scope primary care and realizing that despite loving absolutely everything about optometry, her passion was really in helping kids and providing VT. The other passion that Dr. Marshall has is to teach and help others have successful and happy clinics. In addition to mentoring colleagues through their COVD fellowship process, the clinic and lead vision therapist offers training for therapists and doctors in vision therapy. She also lectures regularly for community organizations, schools, and ancillary professionals like physical therapists, occupational therapists, and naturopathic physicians. Dr. Marshall was awarded the Young OD of the Year from the Oregon Optometric Physicians Association in 2001 and received her fellowship from COVD in 2011. She is currently the chair of the COVD insurance committee, the AOA Federal Advocacy Representative for Oregon, and serves as Immediate past president on the OOPA board of directors. In her spare time, since she retired from race car driving, she enjoys gardening and spending time in the beautiful Central Oregon outdoors.

Jeff Walline, OD, PhD

Professor, OSU College of Optometry

Jeffrey J. Walline, OD, PhD, is the Associate Dean for Research at The Ohio State University College of Optometry. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry, and he received his Master’s and PhD degrees from The Ohio State University College of Optometry. Dr. Walline has led several pediatric contact lens studies, and he is the Study Chair of the Bifocal Lenses In Nearsighted Kids (BLINK) Study, a National Eye Institute-sponsored randomized clinical trial to investigate the myopia control effects of soft multifocal contact lenses.

Stephanie Woo, OD, FAAO, FSLS

Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor, Midwestern College of Optometry

Stephanie Woo, OD, FAAO, FSLS, graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Arizona with a degree in Biology Science Education. She graduated with honors from the Southern California College of Optometry. She completed a Cornea and Contact Lens Residency at the University of Missouri, St. Louis, MO. She was the recipient of the Gas Permeable Lens Institute Award for Clinical Excellence and also the John R. Griffin Award for Excellence in Vision Therapy. Dr. Woo is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a fellow of the Scleral Lens Society. She authored the Gas Permeable Lens Expert column in Review of Contact Lenses. She is a frequent author to publications such as Contact Lens Spectrum, Contact Lens and Cornea section of the American Optometric Association, Review of Cornea and Contact Lenses, and Review of Optometric Business. She is an active GPLI advisory board member. Dr. Woo is a past president of the Scleral Lens Education Society, a non-profit organization committed to teaching the art and science of scleral lenses to practitioners. She is an adjunct professor at Midwestern University. Dr. Woo enjoys lecturing around the world on the subject of contact lenses and anterior segment ocular disease. She owns the Contact Lens Institute of Nevada, a clinic dedicated entirely to custom contact lenses. In her spare time, Dr. Woo is an avid wine collector and is a Level 2 WSET Sommelier.

Robert Wooldridge, OD, FAAO

Diplomate, American Board of Optometry

Dr. Wooldridge is the Director of The Eye Foundation of Utah, an optometric co-management center in Salt Lake City, Utah.  A graduate of the Indiana School of Optometry, he formerly served on the staff of the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami School of Medicine.  Dr. Wooldridge is a founding member of the Optometric Glaucoma Society, a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry and a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry.  He has served as President of the Utah Optometric Association, four terms as President and Education Director of the Mountain West Council of Optometrists and as a Director of the Great Western Council of Optometry. He is a member of the Utah State Board of Optometry, Department of Professional Licensing. As Adjunct Clinical Instructor at several schools and colleges of optometry, he directs the clinical education of optometry students at the Eye Foundation. He is a two-time recipient of the Utah Optometrist of the Year award and currently serves as the UOA Education Committee Chairman. A nationally known speaker, he has provided lectures over the past thirty years to optometrists across the U.S. and internationally.

Chris Wroten, OD

Co-Owner, The Bond-Wroten Eye Clinics

After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana State University, Chris Wroten, OD, graduated from Southern College of Optometry (SCO), then completed a residency in Hospital-based Primary Eye Care at the Memphis Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Wroten is a partner at Bond-Wroten Eye Clinic, with three offices in southeast Louisiana, and serves as the clinic’s Chief Operating Officer, while supervising its Primary Care & Ocular Disease Residency and Student Externship Programs, both of which he founded. He has received appointment as adjunct faculty at several schools and colleges of optometry, has twice been elected president of the Optometry Association of Louisiana (OAL) and co-chairs its Education Committee, is vice-chair of SECO International’s Education Committee, and serves on the Louisiana State Board of Optometry Examiners. He has been appointed to numerous committees within the American Optometric Association, and serves on the Board of Trustees for SCO. Dr. Wroten has lectured internationally, participated in clinical research, and been honored with several professional awards throughout his career. He is a devoted husband to his wife, Dr. Sarah Wroten, also a staff optometrist at The Bond-Wroten Eye Clinics, and is the proud father of two children, Emily and Ben.
